Dr. Ledo
Principal
Dr. M. Kristina Ledo has over fifteen years in the educational arena. Her varied career involves multiple areas and disciplines pertaining to educating all children and adults. A nationally recognized presenter and published research-practitioner, Dr. Ledo started her career in and around the Miami-Dade area as a teacher of students with special needs. After various positions of leadership at the school-site, Dr. Ledo moved into positions of leadership and support at the Regional and District levels. She has directed and managed multiple projects in conjunction with not-for-profit organizations and universities around the country. Currently, Dr. Ledo enjoys a collaborative relationship with the Florida Department of Education Bureau of Exceptional Student Education. Her strengths include leadership and support, program development, research, legal compliance, policy creation, training and grants.
Using her vast expertise, Dr. Ledo’s renewed focus is to bring AcadeMir Schools to the next step of excellence. Dr. Ledo is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence focusing on the whole child while maintaining a safe environment where ALL children can excel.
Mr. Plantada
Asst. Principal
Mr. Christopher Plantada joined the AcadeMir family in 2019. He has been in the education field since 2007 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experiences. Throughout the years he has played many roles from teacher to counselor to administrator for schools ranging in grades from K- 12. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Plantada also holds professional educator certifications in Educational Leadership (All Levels), Early childhood education, and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
Mrs. Tabares
Asst. Principal
Mrs. Erica Tabares has been a part of the AcadeMir family since 2019. She has over 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, curriculum coach, and school administrator. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from FIU and her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. Tabares holds certifications in English grades 6-12, ESOL K-12, Reading K-12, Gifted Education K-12, and Educational Leadership. Her goal as an educator is to empower and encourage students to be the best version of themselves. Mrs. Tabares is looking forward to a wonderful school and is excited to collaborate and support students, parents, teachers, and community members.
